Patios, pool decks and porches are where you actually live outside, and in our climate they get slick, green and dingy fast. We clean concrete, paver and brick patios, pool decks and porches with the right pressure and cleaning solution for each surface, so they look good and feel safer underfoot.
Got a wood deck? That’s a different process. See deck cleaning.

Patio & Pool Deck Cleaning in Beaufort
Patios
Concrete slabs, stamped concrete, pavers, brick and flagstone. Back patios in the shade of oaks and pines are the worst for black mildew and green algae, and the joints fill with moss and dirt.
Pool decks
Pool decks see constant water, sunscreen, leaves and foot traffic. Algae grows along the edges and in low spots where water sits, which makes them slick right where people walk barefoot.

Porches
Yes, we clean porches. Front porches, back porches and screened porches, plus the steps leading up to them. Spring pollen settles on porches in a yellow coat every year, and shady porches grow mildew along the edges and on the railings. A porch cleaning gets your favorite rocking-chair spot back.
Slippery Algae Is a Safety Issue
That green or black film on a shady patio isn’t just ugly. When it’s wet, it’s slick, and patios and pool decks are exactly where people are walking barefoot, carrying plates or chasing kids. Cleaning the algae off at the root makes the surface noticeably less slippery and keeps it that way longer than a quick hose-down.
If anyone in your house is older or unsteady on their feet, a clean patio is one of the easiest safety upgrades you can make.
Our Patio Cleaning Process
- Protect. We pre-rinse your plants, screens and nearby siding.
- Pre-treat the growth. We apply a cleaning solution to break down algae, mildew and moss, and spot-treat stains.
- Surface clean. On flat concrete and pavers we use a professional surface cleaner for an even, stripe-free result. Steps, edges and corners get detailed by hand.
- Rinse. We rinse the dirty water off the patio and away from your doors, screens and beds.
- Final rinse and walk-through. We rinse plants again and check the job with you.
Concrete, Pavers or Brick: How We Adjust
- Concrete and stamped concrete: concrete handles more pressure, but stamped or colored concrete and old sealers need a lighter touch so we don’t strip the color.
- Pavers: enough pressure to clean the surface and joints without chipping edges.
- Brick: older brick and soft mortar get low pressure and more cleaning solution, so we don’t erode the mortar joints.

Patio Cleaning FAQs
Why is my patio so slippery?
Usually it’s algae and mildew, which grow fast on shaded concrete and pavers in our humidity. They’re slick when wet. Cleaning them off at the root makes the surface safer.
Do you clean porches?
Yes. We clean front, back and screened porches and their steps. Check Porch on the quote form.
Will pressure washing damage my pavers or brick?
Not when the pressure is matched to the surface. We use lighter pressure and more cleaning solution on brick, old mortar and pavers, so we don’t chip edges or wear down joints.
How often should a patio be cleaned?
About once a year for most patios. Shady patios and pool decks may need it twice a year, often once after spring pollen season.
Do you clean wood decks too?
Yes, but with a different, gentler process. See our deck cleaning page.
